Woman Arrested For Being Under The Influence Of Drugs After Crash That Sent Two Motorcyclists To The Hospital With Life Threatening Injuries

The London Police Department says two people suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash in London. Officers say the crash happened Wednesday near the intersection of KY-192 and KY-229. According to the report 47 year old Patricia Hollingsworth of Corbin drove through a red light into the path of a motorcycle. 44 year old Christopher Abbott of Keavy and 34 year old Heather Burkhart of London were on the motorcycle. They were flown to UK hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hollingsworth was arrested and charged with DUI - controlled substances and first-degree assault. She was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Knox County Man Arrested On Sexual Abuse Charges

Police say a man in Knox County faces a third degree sexual abuse charge. Officers arrested 30 year old Douglas Woodlee of Barbourville after a warrant was issued. According to the warrant, a 15-year-old girl claimed Woodlee fondled her chest outside her shirt in January of this year. Woodlee was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Man Accused Of Clay County Murder Pleads Not Guilty

A man accused of a Clay County murder plead not guilty this week before a judge. Police arrested Kenneth Grubb thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip. Police found Grubb in Butler County, Ohio. Grubb is accused of killing 61 year old Robert Burns. On May 4th, troopers discovered Burns' body in a wooded area off of Sol Hollow Road in the Oneida community of Clay County. Grubb is due in court June 5 for a preliminary hearing.

London Police Looking For Theft Suspects

The London Police Department are asking for your help identifying two people of interest in a theft case. Officers say a theft from a vehicle resulted in more than $10,000 in damages. The people of interest were last seen in an ivory Cadillac Escalade. Surveillance video captured images of the suspects (shown below). Anyone with information is asked to call the London Police Department at 878-7004. Tips can be made anonymously.

Woman Arrested After Allegedly Trying To Bring Drugs Into The Laurel County Judicial Center

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested a woman after she tried to bring drugs and needles into the Laurel County Judicial Center. Deputies say 44 year old Keresia Botner of London was arrested at the security checkpoint after she was found with three needles as well as three plastic bags with residue and a plastic container with a crystal substance in it. Botner is charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Armadillo Found In Whitley County

Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell says after 46 years in law enforcement he's never seen an armadillo in this area. Harrell posted a photo on Facebook of an armadillo. Harrell said one of his deputies found and took the photo of the armadillo, which was found dead along Long Bottom’s Road in the Canadatown community. Harrell said he has heard of other parts of the state seeing the animal. Armadillos are typically found in Central America and in the south-central United States.

Summer Boating Season Kicks Off In Eastern Kentucky

Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, boating season is in full swing. Law enforcement officials with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife are making their presence known on the waters. Their goal is to keep everyone safe. They say they're looking to make sure everyone on board has a life jacket, if there is a fire extinguisher, any flammable substances, a flotation device and a horn or sounding device, and of course fishing licenses for those fishing. Officers will continue to patrol the lake through the summer. Laurel County Man Indicted In Deadly Hit-And-Run Case

A Knox County Grand Jury has indicted a man in a deadly hit-and-run crash. 46 year old John Melton is charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident. Corbin police say Melton ran over 62 year old Roscoe Jones in February on Highway 25. According to detectives, the victim was walking to the ATM when he was hit. Jones was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he later died.

Three Men Caught In Stolen Vehicle On I-75 In Laurel County

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says three men are facing charges after they were caught driving a stolen vehicle on I-75. While investigating a hit-and-run crash on I-75 Monday, deputies noticed a damaged, white Chevrolet Impala. Deputies stopped the Impala and determined it was not involved in the hit-and-run but discovered it was reported stolen out of Rockcastle County. Deputies arrested the driver, 21 year old Richard Lovell and both the passengers, 20 year old David Bass and 20 year old Jordan McGuire, all three of Mount Vernon, on receiving stolen property charges. They were all lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
