Intoxicated Man Arrested After Fleeing Hospital While Being Treated Following Alleged Assault

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says deputies were called out to check on a man who apparently fled St. Joseph Hospital while being treated there following an alleged assault. While there the man, 24 year old Bradley Austin Morris, reportedly ripped off his neck brace, pulled out his IV and created a disturbance. Officers found Morris hiding behind a church off Parker Road nearby. He tried to run from police, but was caught. Morris admitted to deputies he had been drinking and had taken Suboxone earlier. He was taken back to the hospital where he was treated and released back to police. Morris was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances, disorderly conduct and fleeing or evading police. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Two Men Arrested After Police Find Them Passed Out At Traffic Stop

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested two people at the scene of an accident. Officers had traffic stopped on 1803, north of Girdler, while they investigated a vehicle crash. When the road was reopened, one the vehicles waiting in line did not move. When deputies checked the vehicle, they found the driver and the passenger passed out inside. After waking the two men, officers found two Suboxone strips, over 100 assorted pills and a used syringe. The driver, 52 year old William Sizemore, was charged with DUI, third offense, among others. The passenger, 30 year old Arthur McVey, was charged with drug offenses, resisting arrest and others. Both were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

Ice Cream Cake Capers Arrested

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested two people for stealing from Dunkin' Donuts. Officers say 18 year old Seth Messer and 19 year old Ajayci Cotton, both of London, were arrested four days after an ice cream cake was stolen from the store in London. Police say Messer stole the cake while Cotton filmed the crime and later uploaded it to social media. Messer and Cotton are both charged with third degree burglary. They were both lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Knox County Man Who Tried To Run Over Deputies Behind Bars

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says a man is behind bars after he tried to run them over. Deputies arrested 36 year old Thomas Gray of Flat Lick after he drove his truck in the direction of a deputy’s patrol car at a gas station. After nearly missing the police car, Gray made a sharp turn onto 25E traveling the wrong way, running serval cars off the road. Police say Gray wrecked the truck he was driving into a ditch and ran away. He was found and arrested on Evergreen Road in Knox County. Police say the truck Gray was driving at the time was stolen and they found a stolen EBT card in Gray’s possession. Gray is charged with Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, Wanton Endangerment, Fleeing or Evading Police and several others. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

Two People Arrested In Laurel County On Identity Theft And Other Charges

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says two people were arrested on identity theft charges, among others. Deputies arrested 20 year old Destiny Bullard and 21 year old Dustin Lewis after an ongoing investigation into identity theft. Police allege that the two used a computer to change information, steal someone's identity and transfer $7,500 into their own accounts. According to police, neither Bullard nor Lewis had the victim's permission to access those accounts. They were both lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center. Other arrests are expected in the case.

Knox County Traffic Stop Leads To Three Drug Arrests

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested three people after a traffic stop turned up drugs and money. Officers charged 56 year old Randall Bays, 42 year old Scott Browning and 46 year old Leslie Browning with drug possession, among other things. Police noticed a vehicle swerving in and out of traffic and following other cars at an unsafe distance on US 25 East in the Gray community and pulled it over. During the stop deputies saw the three passing items to each other. It turned out they were passing drugs and paraphernalia to Leslie Browning so that she could hide them. Police seized two bags of suspected crystal meth, one bag containing suspected Fentanyl, a small amount of suspected marijuana, three “Crack” pipes, two Government EBT cards and over $2050.00 in cash during the arrests. They were all lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

Man Charged In String Of Laurel County Burglaries

A man has been arrested in Laurel County in connection to a series of burglaries. Police say from November through December of last year, Bobby Yocum broke into a home on five different occasions. During that time, police say he took a gun and several other items. Yocum faces first and second-degree burglary charges. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Barbourville Police Investigating Theft Of Classic Truck

The Barbourville Police Department is investigating the theft of a 1972 Chevy pickup. The truck was stolen sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning near the intersection of Daniel Boone Drive and Broadway Street. The victim has posted a $1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Barbourville Dispatch at 546-3510.

Corbin Woman Behind Bars After Allegedly Pouring Gas On Husband And Setting Him On Fire

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested a Corbin woman after she allegedly poured gasoline on her husband and set him on fire. It happened off of Woodland Court about 10 miles south of London. Deputies say 40 year old Vera Wooten got into a fight with her husband at their home, which led to the incident. Afterward she reportedly drove him to St. Joesph Hospital in London for treatment. Officers say the husband was flown to a Cincinnati hospital with burns on more than 50% of his body. At last check, he was in critical condition. Wooten was charged with assault and lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Man Injures Officers During Arrest Attempt In Laurel County

The Kentucky State Police says a man got violent with Laurel County Sheriff's deputies who attempted to arrest him. William Collette, Jr. is in the Laurel County Detention Center. Troopers responded to help deputies with a domestic complaint on Oak Ridge Church Road. Troopers say they witnessed William Collette, Jr. charge at deputies inside the apartment, yelling that he was going to kill them. One deputy deployed his Taser, but police say Collette did not respond and charged the officers. State police say Collette tackled both officers taking them out the door onto the sidewalk. Police then used a second electronic control weapon on him. During the struggle, police say Collette caused cuts and abrasions to officers. The victim of the original domestic dispute told officers Collette had been drinking all day and made several threats toward her and her children. State Police charged Collette with assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, assault (domestic violence), and criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
