Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith says Deputy Jeremiah Williamson responded to a complaint of a man high on meth at a home on Columbia Drive in Hinkle. Deputy Williamson arrived to find 63-year-old Harold Mills sitting in a pickup and 52-year-old Curtis Riley standing next to the truck. When Riley saw the police cruiser, he fled on foot, but was caught. Riley was found to have plastic bags containing suspected crystal methamphetamine in his possession. Mills also was found to have suspected crystal methamphetamine, a pill bottle with white tablets, a large number of plastic bags and a glass “meth pipe” in his possession. A total of approximately eleven grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine was seized. Riley and Mills were arrested and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
