A Pulaski County EMS service will continue as a joint city-county venture. Months of negotiations resulted in the Somerset-Pulaski County EMS to continue the operation. A new interlocal agreement was accepted, giving employees more job security, allow more oversight and look at ways they can improve. Somerset Mayor Alan Keck said at the end of the day, their goal was continuity of care for their people and to make sure that their employees are well taken care of. The final agreement had the county agreeing to new monetary terms and the city agreeing to other new details. The new interlocal agreement will take effect July 1.
