Fall subsidy applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, open on Nov. 5. Officials say assistance is eligible for households that receive a certain income level below the poverty line for their household size. Officials said it is important to get all of the documents necessary to sign up. Applicants need their social security card, previous month’s income, and electric bill. If you’re signing up for something other than your electric bill, you can use a metered water bill. To find an office near you, click here.
