Identity of Motorcyclist Killed in Laurel County Crash Released

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man killed in a crash Monday. Officials say 31-year-old Johnathon Wyatt, of Barbourville, was the driver of the motorcycle. Crash Reconstructionist Deputy Brad Mink says the three-vehicle crash happened on KY-229, about six miles south of London. The initial investigation shows that apparently Wyatt was headed north when he approached a pickup truck heading in the same direction. The truck reportedly had stopped on the road for a mail carrier, who was also going north. Wyatt reportedly tried to stop but ended up hitting the truck in the rear. The motorcycle then went into the southbound lane striking another truck heading south before coming to rest. Wyatt was taken to St. Joseph Hospital London where he was later pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.
