Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting in Rockcastle County that left a man dead. The shooting happened on Little Creek Road. Investigators say 48-year-old Joseph Dawson, of Berea, his wife Katherine Dawson and her family member, Phillip Fox were arguing. Joseph reportedly made threats to kill Katherine and Fox. Joseph reportedly exited the home grabbing a machete and Fox retrieved a gun and fired at Joseph. Joseph was pronounced dead on the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner. The investigation is ongoing.
