Laurel County Sheriff John Root And Detective Taylor McDaniel arrested Brianna Rich age 26 of London on Friday night March 14, 2025 at approximately 9:30 PM. The arrest occurred after Laurel County deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a reported shooting at a residence off Burnett Road, approximately 7 miles southeast of London. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Brianna Rich’s mother, Carol Rich deceased at the scene from multiple gunshots. A 9 mm pistol was recovered at the scene. The Laurel County coroner’s office was notified and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The cause of the shooting has yet to be determined. Brianna Rich was charged with murder and was lodged in the Laurel County correctional center. Photo of accused provided by arresting Sheriff’s detectives.
