The Corbin Police Department says they received a shots-fired complaint at a home off of 1014 Circle Drive. Reportedly, Michael LeForce had fired shots from a building. A victim told police that LeForce reportedly threatened to shoot her during an argument and fired two shots toward her. Patrolman Chris Brown, Ptl. Wayne Bird, Sergeant Jeff Hill, and Corporal Brad Prewitt arrived and attempted to call LeForce out. Gun shots were fired from within the building and a stand-off ensued. A host of Kentucky State Police Troopers and Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene. Police say it took more than four hours before LeForce was taken into custody. LeForce was charged with attempted murder, attempted murder of a police officer, wanton endangerment, possession of handgun by convicted felon, violation of conditions of release, terroristic threatening, tampering with physical evidence and public intoxication – controlled substances. No one was injured in the incident. LeForce was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
