A reception for Dr. Ryan Quarles this week, hosted by Barry Martin, the CEO of Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky and Dr. Jennifer Lindon, the CEO of Hazard Community and Technical College. Quarles was recently named the new president of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The former Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture and candidate for governor was selected as the fourth president of KCTCS, and fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Paul Czarapata. Quarles said his focus during his tenure boils down to three major areas: affordability, accessibility and workforce. KCTCS students currently make up 1 in 49 jobs in Kentucky, which Quarles said can be better.
